Focused on Teachers and Education Support Professionals.
WE Increased teacher pay and benefits to attract and retain high-quality teachers.
WE created LEAC (Licensed Educator Advisory Committee), where teachers have a voice on benefits and work conditions.
WE created an incentive plan for teachers to earn an Education Grant for extraordinary work. .
WE improved the salary and benefits of Education Support Professionals and Administration.
Allowed all the FSSA money to pass through to local schools
Fiscally Responsible Spending with high growth
WE oversaw the spending of the 2016 School building bond. All schools were built on time and under budget.
WE voted to remodel Bingham High School rather than rebuilding the school saving the district around 100 million dollars.
WE purchased future school property ensuring schools can be built in high growth areas.
WE developed a relationship with Utah State University and the Bastian Family to create an innovative school on the Utah State Campus west of Herriman.
WE participated in the most extensive school boundary review to better use existing facilities.
WE voted to decline an automatic property tax increase when county equalization ended.
WE created a fiscally conservative budget. Jordan District has one of the lowest tax rates and lowest debt ratio in schools in the state.
WE voted to increase the fleet of natural gas buses in the district resulting in tremendous cost savings and environmental benefits.
Family-Friendly Policies:
WE changed the school calendar development process to allow for public input.
WE transitioned all elementary schools to a traditional schedule, unifying family schedules, and providing future flexibility in calendaring.
WE reduced school fees and updated policies and procedures to ensure school fees are only charged when necessary and are used on this year's students.
WE lead the way in creating a COVID re-opening plan that provided safe options with innovative schedules. families were given options that best fit their needs.
Improved the quality of our schools
WE hired a new superintendent, Dr. Anthony Godfrey. His team focuses on creating innovative schools, increasing the quality of education, and creating clear communication with others.
WE created a Jordan District Health and Wellness department in response to the Suicide Cluster in Herriman. Hired psychologist and LCSW in our schools, and worked with community-based solutions as the Jordan District become a leader in Mental Health Resources.
WE approved several initiatives to increase the safety and security of our school buildings and properties.
WE improved Club policies so more student activities can be accommodated and recognized in our schools. Lacrosse became a UHSAA sanctioned sport.
WE became a Charter School Authorizer and authorized the creation of REAL Salt Lake Academy High School, a Jordan District Charter School.
WE advocated for expanding the gifted and talented (ALPS) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs so gifted students had more opportunities.
WE created an Arts program at Majestic Elementary to draw students to an under-enrolled school.
WE invested 5 million dollar over four years to improve the quality of education in the West Jordan feeder system.
WE inspired a Blended Learning Late Start program, allowing High School Students to choose what time to begin their school day.
